The Investor KITAS is a specialized visa tailored for business investors in Indonesia, enabling them to reside in the country and oversee their business operations.
Are there different types of investor KITAS?
Yes, there are two types of investor KITAS in Indonesia depending on the length of stay. The two types are as below:
Index 313 - 1 year
Index 314 - 2 years
What is the difference between investor KITAS and working permit KITAS?
The primary distinction between an investor KITAS and a working permit KITAS is that investors are exempt from applying for a working permit, as they are not categorized as employees. Consequently, they are not obligated to make monthly contributions to DKP-TKA (Development Funds in Exchange of hiring a foreign worker).
Who is eligible for an investor KITAS?
To qualify for the Investor KITAS, you must make a minimum investment of IDR 1.25 billion in company shares. However, if you also hold the position of director within the company, the minimum investment requirement is reduced to IDR 1 billion.
For newly established companies, once they obtain the business registration number (Nomor Induk Berusaha – NIB) and necessary business licenses (Izin Usaha), they can act as the sponsor for your Investor KITAS application. On the other hand, for existing businesses, you will need to apply for all the required licenses through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.
It's important to note that certain positions are not permitted for foreigners under the Investor KITAS, including human resource, quality control and inspection, legal, supply chain management, and health, safety, and environment affairs.
